Veggie of the Month: Tumeric by Savannah Grace Carter

August is Turmerific!Hello family! Welcome to our new plant of the month blog series! My name is Savannah Grace. I am a 9 year old girl who lives in North Carolina with my mom and spends summers in Michigan with my dad. I love to read fiction books and write short stories. I draw pictures of animals in my spare time, my favorite color is magenta and I think eating healthy is important! I am also proud to say I am Auntie Que’s niece! One day while visiting Auntie Que's business, The Kitchen, I thought it would be cool for her to have a plant of the month for her store. She loved the idea and told me that I should write a blog. It was our idea to start this blog series about a new plant every month. I am happy to announce that the plant of the month for July is turmeric! Turmeric’s scientific name is Curcuma longa. I think that is so cool! I will use the 4-1-1 to share my excitement about turmeric.
